Community Involvement
The doctors and staff of Wilmington Animal Hospital truly believe that it is impossible for a caring and thriving veterinary hospital to be disconnected from the larger community it serves. We take great pride in the vibrancy of our region and appreciate all that our friends and neighbors, our clients, mean to the success of this city, state, and our practice.
This is why we enjoy being a good neighbor by taking every opportunity to do our part to help sustain and strengthen Wilmington and the neighboring areas. Our doctors and staff routinely volunteer at their local schools, houses of worship, and other civic organizations as well as share their veterinary knowledge and skills for animals and pet owners in less fortunate circumstances than our own.
For example, we give free first exams for pets adopted from the Delaware Humane Association, Faithful Friends, and the Delaware SPCA. We also regularly open our practice to school groups so they can learn more about our profession and animal care and safety. We also visit classrooms to spread our message about responsible pet ownership, pet health and safety.
Because there is nothing sadder than the overpopulation of companion animals, we participate in spay and neuter programs, like the one run by The Pet Project.
Our staff also puts their love of all animals to work for a wide range of charitable and humane causes. Erika volunteers and fosters senior cats and kittens for the Salem County Humane Society; Kim participates in pet care education programs in schools; Sara acts as an interpreter for deaf pet owners in our clinic; and Nicole runs the horse rescue group, Red Caboose Equine Foster and Rescue. Drs. Green and Ladman also share their time with the Delaware Humane Association.
In all, Wilmington Animal Hospital is very proud to play as large a role as possible in helping strengthen our communities and live lives in the service of pets throughout Wilmington and the surrounding region. We are but one of many hands helping to sustain and make where we live a better place.
