Emergencies at Wilmington Animal Hospital

At Wilmington Animal Hospital, we strive to see all of our own patients when they are encountering an emergency situation during our regular office hours.  We just ask that you call prior to bringing your pet to us, so that we may properly prepare for his or her arrival.  If we do not have an available appointment and you feel that your pet is in need of urgent care, we will have our technicians triage your pet.  This process allows us to decide if your pet is in immediate danger and needs to be attended to by a doctor right away, or if your pet can wait for an available appointment.

We are not a 24-hour care hospital, so there are times at which we may recommend transfer of your pet to a hospital that can provide on-going and overnight stabilization and care.  This decision will be made based upon your pet’s health condition and stability, your doctor’s recommendation, and your wishes for your pet’s care.

Should your pet need urgent care when Wilmington Animal Hospital is closed, we recommend seeking care at one of the facilities listed below:
