Dr. Yamada

Dr. Shuko Yamada is a 2001 graduate of the School of Veterinary Medicine at Purdue University. Prior to joining the staff of Wilmington Animal Hospital, she worked at various emergency facilities in Chicago and Indiana. In addition to her strong background in conventional medicine, Dr. Yamada is also a Reiki master and has trained in veterinary acupuncture with the Chi Institute in Florida.

Dr. Yamada enjoys zoo and wildlife medicine and has done studies on the prevalence of antibiotic resistance of mountain gorillas in Uganda. In addition to her goal of improving domestic and international animal welfare, she enjoys cooking, camping and playing with her dogs at home.
