My 9 year old mix Ozzie has suffered from hip dysplasia for years. A few months ago, he began to fall on non-carpeted surfaces, would limp sometimes, didn't want to go down the three steps to go outside, and would yelp in pain. Upon visiting Wilmington Animal Hospital, Dr. Yamada suggested laser therapy. I was skeptical but have always received good care from the staff so I decided to give it a try. One day after Ozzie's first laser treatment, he could get up and down by himself, albeit a bit stiffly, and would go outside. By the end of the six-visit course of treatment, he was just about back to his old self: playing with his sister-dog, jumping up on the bed where he likes to sleep at night, and hopping in the back of the car without assistance. He's now on maintenance treatments and I plan to keep him on them throughout his life-- he doesn't move like a dog with fairly severe orthopedic problems. I am thankful for this affordable treatment and it helps that Ozzie loves getting it!
