Maria Werkiser, VMD

Dr. Maria Werkiser has been a veterinarian at Wilmington Animal Hospital since 1997.  She has an undergraduate degree in Animal Science from the University of Delaware and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 1990.

Prior to practicing small animal medicine, Dr. Werkiser was an equine veterinarian.  She is now known for her thorough approach to canine and feline internal medicine cases and her tireless dedication to her patients.

Dr. Werkiser lives with her husband Dave and her dogs Eli and Monkey.  When she is not caring for patients at WAH, she is training and caring for her horses, hiking, reading, and spending time with her three daughters when they return home for visits.
