Sarah Ielusic, VMD

Dr. Sarah Ielusic grew up in Weston, Connecticut, and has wanted to be a veterinarian since childhood. Inspired by the compassionate care her own dog received during an emergency, she set out to provide the same comfort and support to pets and their families. She earned her VMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2025 after completing her BA in English with a Pre-Health Supplementary Major at the University of Notre Dame.

Dr. Ielusic is Fear Free and CPR certified with special interests in preventive care, nutrition, and complex internal medicine cases. She first joined Wilmington Animal Hospital as a technician in 2023 and returned for an externship in 2024 before coming on board as a veterinarian. She also helped organize PennVet’s annual MLK Jr. Day Vaccination Clinic serving pets in West Philadelphia and completed an externship with the ASPCA Spay/Neuter Alliance in Asheville, NC, expanding her skills in community medicine and surgery.

Outside of work, she enjoys reading, hiking, trying new restaurants, and cheering on her favorite football teams. She grew up with two spirited Vizslas, Raina and Vela, who inspired her lifelong love of animals.
